Top 5 Essential Travel Experiences in Bali Indonesia!

1. Seafood at Jimbaran Bay Bali

If you’re thinking of having the freshest seafood in Bali, look no further than Jimbaran Bay. There are endless number of seafood restaurants where you can choose from and prices here are a little cheaper compared to the Kuta area. The best part? Seafood by the beach! Kate and I had front row seats as we enjoyed the fresh prawns and crabs while the sun set in the distance. A perfect way to end the evening!

2. Day trip to Kintamani with views over Mount Batur and Lake Batur

If you’re going to take a day trip in Bali, remember to visit Kintamani with views over Mount Batur and Lake Batur. We were taken by our driver Nengah (HP : 081 239 55 616) from 9am to 7pm for 500,000 IDR. Although it is 3 hours away (from Kuta to Kintamani), we had several stops in between including visits to BAS Agrotourism for Luwak Coffee (Civet Cat Coffee) as well as Ubud for shopping! Kate’s favourite past time! We were taken to a restaurant atop Kintamani (Buffet @ 100,000 + 21% IDR) with extensive views of the active volcano Batur and its adjoining Lake Batur. You can even see blackened soil around the volcano where it last erupted in 2000.

3. Surfing @ Kuta or Legian Beach Bali

We used to think that Bali was more for beach bumming, massages, food and shopping. This trip changed all that. In fact, the Kuta and Legian beaches in Bali has some really good waves for beginners. The key word here is beginners because you most definitely won’t be getting 15 metres waves like those in Hawaii. But it also means that if you’re intending to pick up surfing, here’s a really good spot to begin, complete with surfing classes and rental of surfer boards.

4. Plenty of shopping options at Kuta (Discovery/Beachwalk Shopping Malls) and Ubud

There are many many MANY shopping options in Bali and with the latest shopping mall (Beachwalk) at Kuta, travellers can enjoy modern creature comforts such as movies, branded shopping, dining and massage right here! Speaking of massages, we had probably one of our best massages here in Beachwalk shopping mall at Martha Tilaar. Although it was a little pricey (300,000 IDR) as compared to the usual 100,000 IDR spa parlour massages, you’d be sure of the most relaxing strokes used and of course, the atas Martha Tilaar products (also available at Marina Bay Sands)!

5. Chilling – That’s what a Bali trip is really about!

What’s a holiday in Bali without chilling out? And we’re talking about really chilling out. Not trying to get connected to wifi or grabbing some drinks on the go. We’re talking about having some drinks, people watch, sunset watching, hearing the waves and really just re-connecting with one another. Now that’s really rejuvenating. You must try it the next time you’re in Bali yah? By the way, do us a favour and switch off your handphones while taking in the sights and sounds of Bali!

I am planning to visit Bali next year, so I hope you don’t mind a question: Is there any cultural attraction in Bali?, like a museum?

    Thanks in advance.
