Things to do in Seoul – Seoul Tower
Seoul Tower is a major attraction of Seoul, sitting atop Namsan. Hence, the full name of Seoul Tower is actually Namsan Seoul Tower. To get here, take Namsan Tour Bus no. 2 from Chungmuro Station (Exit 2). We do not recommend a walk up Namsan because of the distance (long climb) and the incline of the walk (steep climb). Besides the amazing views, you’ll also find many instagrammable spots with lockermania as well as Seoul Tower Cartoon Characters! 🙂
Things to do in Seoul – Stroll along Insa-Dong Stream
Insa-Dong Stream, also known as Cheonggyecheon Stream passes close to several palaces, Seoul Plaza as well as Insa-Dong street. This allows visitors to enjoy the leisurely stroll and head off to major attractions in Seoul easily. Moreover, evening and night strolls are extra captivating with night lights illuminating the stream.
Seoul Attractions – War Memorial of Korea
To learn more about the history of South Korea as well as the Korean War, the place to head to is the War Memorial of Korea. Even though the attraction is free (yes free!), the displays and exhibits are of high quality. For instance, the outdoor display of fighter planes, vessels, helicopters and tanks is a great place for photos with these war machines. Inside, the exhibits accurately describe the sequence of events for the Korean War. In addition, there are not one but two 4D theatres for visitors to view, learn and experience the events in Korean War. Definitely worth a visit!
Seoul Attractions – Gyeongbokgung Palace
If there’s a palace you’ll be visiting in Seoul, make it Gyeongbokgung Palace. This is because it is probably the most beautiful and grand palace in Seoul. In addition, it is the largest of the 5 palaces in Seoul. Picturesque spots include Gwanghwamun Gate as well as the Gyeonghoeru Pavilion that features a large pond that surrounds the vicinity. To cap off the visit, head to Tosokchon Samgyetang Korean Chicken Soup to enjoy a delicious and healthy bowl of ginseng chicken soup!
Seoul Travel Experience – World Cup Stadium Seoul South Korea
As a soccer fan, we’ve visited Nou Camp in Barcelona and the Bernabeu in Madrid. Hence, we did not miss the chance to visit the World Cup Stadium Seoul that hosted the 2002 World Cup – the first time that the World Cup was held outside of Europe or the Americas.

Seoul Travel Experience – Bukchon Hanok Village
For a instagram-worthy shot of traditional korean houses in Seoul, Bukchon Hanok Village is the place to head to. When you arrive, there will be local guides in the vicinity that can give you specific instructions on the lanes that are open to visitors. However, please be reminded to keep really quiet as you traverse these areas because local residents are still living there.
Seoul Travel Experience – Shopping in Seoul!
Of course, what would a trip to Seoul be without indulging in a little shopping experience? There are several shopping streets in Seoul that we visited this time including Myeongdong, Ewha Woman’s University as well as Times Square Seoul (for shopping at Emart!). While we were in Myeongdong, we even snagged 50% discount deals at the Innisfree Flagship Store!
