Treasure Island Mini Golf in Auckland was our very last attraction during this visit to the North Island of New Zealand. By now, we had dropped off our luggage at the Auckland airport and had planned to stroll over to Treasure Island Mini Golf (walking distance from Auckland Airport) to spend some time before our SQ Business Class flight from Auckland to Singapore…
About Treasure Island Mini Golf Auckland
According to Treasure Island Mini Golf’s Website:
“Australasia’s largest adventure golf course. Treasure Island includes two fantastic 18 hole courses – Blackbeard’s & Captain’s. We are located next to Auckland Airport. Treasure Island offers quality family entertainment suitable for all ages! We’re also a fantastic venue for corporate functions, school groups, holiday programmes and sports groups! In fact, we can accommodate almost any group or occasion! Putt over waterfalls, around shark, crocodile and eel infested waters and hear the cannon blast! No bookings required. Open 7 days including all public holidays except Christmas Day.”
Treasure Island Mini Golf opens daily (except on Christmas Day) from 9am to 5pm. Each game costs $16 but second game is half price. This time, we played 2 games at a total of $48. The reason we did so is because there are 2 courses at Treasure Island Mini Golf
Blackbeard’s Course
and the Captain’s Course
According to our receptionist,
The Blackbeard’s Course is the tougher course as compared to the Captain’s Course. Hence, while we’re still energetic and all, we decided to check out the Blackbeard’s Course. But first, we had to choose our balls…
The first game (Blackbeard’s Course) was actually won by Tom 48 strokes to 50 strokes while the second game (Captain’s Course) was won by Kate narrowly 47 to 48…
We totally enjoyed the experience at Treasure Island Mini Golf because of the pirate’s theme throughout the course…
Along the golf course, you’ll hear explosions of cannons and pirates forcing others to walk the plank (along with sinister laughters!). You’ll see a beautiful lagoon and even a mini waterfall within. Plus, hole number 11 of Captain’s Course is played on a model of the ship itself. You can’t get a more authentic “pirate” experience than this…

All in all, we had a perfect time hitting balls, laughing out loud and wondering how Kate scored that hole-in-one throughout our time at Treasure Island Mini Golf. If you, like us have a couple of hours to spare at Auckland airport, take a walk over to Treasure Island Mini Golf (20 minutes walk) and start your swashbuckling adventures on the Blackbeard’s and Captain’s Course!
