Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine was where we visited while looking for a venue to chill at Punggol Settlement this evening. Having visited Georges by the Bay and Relax Bar previously, we decided to check out a new location and thus we dropped by Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine…
About Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine
We took a look at Trunk 95’s website and found that there are 3 main “selling points” of dining at Trunk 95. Firstly, as the name of the restaurant suggests, they are located at Punggol Settlement (level 2) with views of the sea. Seaviews are definitely a plus for diners here at Trunk 95. Secondly, they serve up authentic Thai cuisine with the culinary skills of three renowned Thai Chefs. Lastly, Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside actually has the authentication by “Thai Select” award – an award given by the Ministry of Commerce Thailand.
With these selling points, it was now our turn to find out the real dining experience at Trunk 95 Punggol Settlement…
Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine Menu
Looking at the menu at Trunk 95, we saw that it was really “well-worn”, meaning many people have already flipped through it – not so good from COVID point of view, but definitely a plus for the quality of the restaurant. There were actually alot of authentic Thai dishes such as the steamed sea bass with lime sauce, thai prawn cakes, thai fish cakes and Tom Yum Hot Pot. As we were going to order a tower of draft beers this evening, we decided to have some dishes that would go well with the beers – fried food!
This time, we decided to go with the
1. Signature Trunk 95 Pork Knuckle ($30++) with the description
(“Must Try! Crispy skin produce a great crackling sound while enjoying the juicy sweet flavour of the meat and succulent.”)
2. Fried Shimeiji Mushroom ($9++)
Also, we decided to go with a tower of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc draft beer at $58++
So how were the food and beers at Trunk 95 Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine? Pretty good we must say! Here’s our review of the offerings from Trunk 95 Punggol Settlement…
What We Had at Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine Punggol Settlement
First up, the 3L Draft Beer Tower of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc at $58++. We must say that it was pretty delicious. Definitely better than the Erdinger that we had at Relax Bar previously. Of course, we know that the beers are different but we’re talking about the quality. Erdinger was not as “hoppy” as we thought it should but the Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc at Trunk 95 on the other hand, had the signature citrusy flavours that we are familiar with. Full bodied and delicious 1664 Blanc at Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine!
Next, the Fried Shimeiji Mushroom ($9). We actually like the batter used to fry the Shimeiji Mushroom. It was fragrant and slightly crisp on the bite. Inside, the Shimeiji Mushroom was fresh and succulent. Coupled with appetizing Thai chili lemon sauce, we were starting to really enjoy our meal at Trunk 95.
The surprise find for us was definitely the Signature Trunk 95 Pork Knuckle ($30). The meat was moist and tender on the inside but the biggest draw for us was the crispy pork skin that was crisp on the bite but also had the fatty bits beneath that increased with fatty fragrance as you chewed on it. Washed down with the delicious draft 1664 Blanc, amazing!

As we were dining and enjoying each other’s company this evening, we listened to the Thai Pop Songs that were played over the speakers as well as the cool sea breeze that gently caressed us throughout the night. For a moment in time, we actually thought we were dining at a pub in Phuket, Thailand. Great food, great ambience and good service at Trunk 95 at Bay Seaside Thai Cuisine – do check it out during your next visit to Punggol Settlement!
