Vinpearl Grand World Phu Quoc is one of the main attractions on the island of Phu Quoc. Here, you’ll be able to find smaller attractions such as a remake of Venice, Bamboo Building – an entire building made out of bamboo material as well as beautiful structures at the Urban Park nearby. If you’re staying at Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Spa, you’ll be able to reach there via a complimentary bus service that leaves at 30 minutes intervals.
Urban Park – A Garden of Art Works at Grand World Phu Quoc
Urban Park was the first attraction that we visited at Vinpearl Grand World Phu Quoc. Here, you’ll be able to find 55 small and large art works in an area of 500 square meters.
We also enjoyed the flower structures that are interlinked with each other. Climbing up allows guests to have views over Urban Park and its immediate vicinity…
Bamboo Building – A Garden of Art Works at Grand World Phu Quoc
Also known as Bamboo Legend, Bamboo Building is an embodiment of all things quintessential of Vietnamese culture. As shown in this picture, Bamboo Building has elements of the Bamboo Tree, The Lotus and The Bronze Drum:
Here’s a description of Bamboo Legend from the infographics
“The Bamboo Legend is an outstanding architectural work designed by Vo Trong Nghia, a world-famous architect renowned for using bamboo and folk materials in his designs. 32,000 bamboo trees were carefully selected from Tay Ninh and brought to the Legend Square, creating phenomenal works with a height of nearly 15 meters and an area of up to 700m2.
The presence of this masterpiece at Grand World Phu Quoc contributes to bringing the beauty of the nation’s heritage and identity closer to both locals and international visitors through 3 long-standing cultural symbols:
The Bamboo Tree. Associated with Vietnam’s national spirit and its people
s distinct qualities: simplicity and indomitability.
The Lotus. Vietnam’s national flower, representing the grace and essence of East Asian culture.
The Bronze Drum. The embodiment of the ancient Van Lang – Au Lac civilisation in particular and Vietnamese culture in general.”
What we love about Bamboo Building is the symmetry everywhere we go. Once you’re inside the bronze drum, you’ll also see that there are spot lights strategically placed that makes it looks like stars shining within Bamboo Building itself. An ingenious and beautiful architectural design.
Next to Bamboo Building, you’ll also find the entry to “The Quintessence of Vietnam” – a show which brings visitors to the days of Old Vietnam, complete with moving horses and carriages. However, we did not visit this time as the entire show is featured in Vietnamese and the cost is about 200k VND (or $12) per person. Moving on from here, we enter to the main area of Grand World Phu Quoc…
“Mini Venice” – The Highlight of Vinpearl Grand World Phu Quoc
The main highlight of Grand World Phu Quoc has got to be the mini Venice that has been re-created, along with the Venice River that runs within it. You can even opt to ride on one of the gondola rides here. Having been to Venice in Italy, we must say that at some positions on the bridge, it does remind us of the views in Venice. There’s even a small reconstruction of St. Mark’s Square at the end of the Venice River…
At 9:45pm, you’ll also be able to enjoy “The Colourful Venice Show” that is a lights and fountain show which can be seen from the bridge or one of the restaurants near to the platform in the middle of Venice River near to St. Mark’s Square…
Although it may seem “meh” at first, the Colourful Venice Show is definitely a must-catch show at Vinpearl Grand World Phu Quoc. We were particularly impressed by the dancers that went to the middle of river, revealing that there’s actually a performance platform hidden by the waters. The dancers would wear Venetian outfits with neon lights and perform dance moves that represent the classy Venetian culture. Not only that, you’ll see the gondolas plying Venice River and also the fountains that dance according to the music and lights around the river. A beautifully choreographed show!

If you have time in the evenings while in Phu Quoc, Vinpearl Grand World is definitely a place to visit with the Colourful Venice Show, not to be missed!
