Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Spa was our hotel of choice in Phu Quoc because of several reasons. Firstly, there was a complimentary bus transfer that takes us from Phu Quoc Airport to Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Spa. Secondly, there are also complimentary shuttle buses that takes you to the main attractions in Phu Quoc such as VinWonders, Vinpearl Safari and Vinpearl Grand World.

First Thoughts about Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc
We found the lobby of Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc to be very grand. High ceilings, water fountain and a large Christmas tree (as we visited over the December season) greeted us as we entered the lobby. Of course, the staff opened the door for us and greeted us with the ever welcoming “Xin Chao” – greetings in Vietnamese. After a smooth check-in, we were shown to our Deluxe Garden View King Bed for 2.5M VND per night (or ~$135).

Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc – Deluxe Garden View King Bed
The Deluxe Garden View King Bed Room of Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Spa was just what the room was touted to be. The room faces Melia Phu Quoc hotel and does have some greenery views. Also, it was huge. At 46m2, we found alot of space within the room and also a comfortably-sized bath tub for us to soak in. The bed was comfortable as well. We also noticed that the room was very well maintained – no crusty paints or chips on walls and there’s no musty smell. Although the furnishings seemed a little “old school”, we must say that the hotel is kept in a very good condition.

Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc Facilities
One of the highlights of the hotel for us was definitely the swimming pool. It was HUGE! At no point in time did we feel that the pool was overcrowded – simply because of its sheer size. You’ll also be able to choose from the various flamingo and swan floats, perfect for those instagrammable shots by the pool as well…
From the photo above, you can see both the Ocean and Coral wings of Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc. As we stayed at Ocean Wing, we did a short walk over to Coral Wing – which Kate deems it to be a little bit more atas. Along the walkways of the buildings, you’ll also be able to find some small shops…
Moving from the swimming pool towards the beach, you’ll find Sim Bar where you’ll be able to grab a beer or a cocktail for sunsets by the beach…
As it was our first evening in Phu Quoc, we decided to splurge on a welcome drink – Mai Tai that costs 160k VND (~$9 SGD). That really put us in the holiday mood 😊
The cool thing about staying at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc is that the hotel has its own private beach next to the swimming pool…
What we love about the beach at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc is not only that it has its own private beach but also that the sand is so fine – just like the sand in Surfer’s Paradise Australia. Makes us wonder whether these sand are imported or native to the shores of Phu Quoc. Also, the water is so clear! You can see small schools of fish swimming in the waters as you stroll along the beach. If you stroll along the beach to the north, you’ll also be able to find huge mansions that have private security guards with direct access to the beach. Yup, also owned by Vinpearl as well.
We also visited the in-house spa of Vinpearl Resort & Spa Hotel Phu Quoc. Known as Akoya Spa, it is a peaceful sanctuary, a 1 minute buggy ride away from our hotel lobby. This time, we stopped by for a promotional massage (600k VND – Aryuvedic Head and Shoulder Massage ($33 SGD) and 1.6M VND for a four hands massage – $88 SGD). A little ex for the four hands massage but a little splurging for the missus is always good right? 😅
After having our teas and changing into our spa robes in the changing room, we were brought to one of the villas sprawled over the waters – reminded us of Dubai’s Atlantis the Palm. The environment was tranquil. Even though it was sunny, we were sheltered all the way to the villas where we started with a short foot bath. The massage itself was perfect. Despite being only a head and shoulder massage, the Aryuvedic massage also covered the back – a nice massage to kick start our holiday in Phu Quoc. Kate also enjoyed her four hands massage. However, instead of having both masseuse working on the legs at the same time, both worked on either the left or right side of her body. Meaning one masseuse worked on her arms and back while another on the legs. A relaxing experience nonetheless.
As guests of Vinpearl Resort & Spa, you’ll also have complimentary access to the jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna within Akoya Spa. These can be accessed separately via the male or female changing rooms (i.e. not mixed). However, do note that the masseuse moves in and out of the changing rooms (of both male and female ones) quite frequently. So make sure you are adequately dressed even in the changing rooms…
Nearby, just a few steps away from Akoya Spa, is the gym of Vinpearl Resort & Spa. Hence, the gym is actually not located on-site of the hotel’s premise. Though you can technically walk or jog about 5 minutes from the hotel to the gym. The gym itself is actually quite well equipped…
We like it that the gym was spacious and you would have space to do yoga or some static exercises. However, the dumb bells were a little bit dated. Still, a good venue to work out, overlooking the waters during your holidays.

Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc Dining Options
For breakfast, we were treated to a feast at the Seashell Restaurant each morning at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc…
As you can see from the selection above, the variety of food that Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc offers for breakfast is very extensive. You’ll be able to find western and asian cuisines, along with options for the kids and the health-conscious ones among us. For us, our favourite is definitely the local Vietnamese food options. The Banh Cuon, Banh Mi and Pho Bo were some of the best we’ve tasted. Especially the beef Pho soup, definitely ranks highly on our list. You could taste that it is made from the fresh ingredients and simmered overtime to attain the rich and sweet broth of the soup. The Banh Cuon is also made live on site – definitely worth adding a few more calories for breakfast each morning here. Yum! Here’s what we had over the two mornings (or maybe just one?)…
Each morning, we’d enjoy the breakfast with seats that faces the swimming pool. Definitely one of our favourite seats where we can enjoy the views while feeling the air-condition within Seashell Restaurant. Remember to try out all the local Vietnamese food options while you’re here!
For dinners, you either have the option of dining at Seashell Restaurant for 730k VND (~$40SGD) or try out the options at Pepper Restaurant. We’ve actually written a full review of Pepper Restaurant Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc and we’ll give you a quick coverage of what we had this evening…
From the menu, though most of the grilled seafood options at Pepper Restaurant was quite pricey, we did notice some rather affordable options:
Pan Seared Sea Bass 210k VND ($12 SGD)
Zucchini Fritters 200k VND
Tian of Crab 250k VND
Deep Fried Calamari 250k VND
Crunchy Chicken Salad 170k VND
Mango Sticky Rice 150k VND
For dinner this evening, we went for the following:
Deep Fried Calamari 250k VND
Served with local style lemon and chili sauce, lemon edge
Crunchy Chicken Salad 170k VND
Rottiserie chicken, shredded cabbage, carrot, coriander, mint, peanuts, lime fish sauce and olive oil
Pan Seared Sea Bass 210k VND
Lemon and thyme risotto, Parmesan cheese with fried celeriac and parsley
This evening, we also went with free flow wine promotion (320k VND per person – available at both Pepper and Seashell Restaurant) which includes the
White Wine – Queulat Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc
Red Wine – Ochagavia Espuela Red Cabernet Sauvignon
Hence, instead of spending on the buffet for 2, we went with some great tasting items at Pepper Restaurant along with a liquid buffet. No overeating this evening 😉
