Wellington Seamarket was where we stopped by for breakfast on our first morning at Wellington. This time, we were attracted by the smell and the local vibe that Wellington Seamarket exudes. Moreover, it is almost customary to try out the fish and chips in New Zealand. Hence, we stopped by for our breakfast this morning…
About Wellington Seamarket
From the Wellington Seamarket Facebook Page, it says that
“Wellington Seamarket serves fresh fish, shellfish and other seafood varieties such as smoked fish, seafood salads and marinated raw fish. Wellington Seamarket also provides outstanding fish and chips, focusing on quality and good value. With a range of options on the menu and a selection of fresh fillets and seafood available from our cabinet to be cooked, it doesn’t get better than this!”
There’s also a fridge that displays all the variety of seafood that is on offer for the day…
There is also a wide selection of fish, fillet, prawns, mussels, calamari, deep fried items and even burgers. This time, we went with the specials and chose the All Day Breakfast at $17.50 and were pleasantly surprised!
Wellington Seamarket Menu and What We Had
In addition to the All Day Breakfast Specials ($17.50), we also got the tartare sauce for 90 cents. At first we thought about why we had to pay for tartare sauce but then on second thought, it was a good way to prevent waste and also the quality of the tartare sauce was actually very good…
First off, we must say that the portion was HUGE! We didn’t expect such a big portion and were thankful that we only ordered 1 portion to share. Definitely good for two. Within, the fish was fresh and nicely crumbed on the outside. The secret lies in the batter which remained crisp even after a while.
In the All Day Breakfast Special, there are also eggs, bacon, sausage and fries. The eggs and bacons were shiok (very delicious) too! The eggs were cooked to perfection – remaining moist for the egg whites, yet slightly crisp on the outside while the yolk was runny. The bacon was still juicy when we tucked in while the sausage was well-portioned and flavourful. Although the breakfast was served with a half portion of fries, it was challenging for both of us to finish it as well.
The other thing that we enjoyed was being able to sit by the window and dine. There, we could see people passing by as the day started.

All in all, it was a great start to our day dining in Wellington, dining at Wellington Seamarket. The All Day Breakfast is definite must-try! Huge portion that is good for two to share and the fish is super fresh! Do give Wellington Seamarket a try while in Wellington New Zealand!
