We were staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai New World during our stay in Shanghai. On our last night, we wanted to pamper ourselves a little and asked the concierge for a good restaurant to spend the evening. To our surprise, our concierge went straight to the point and asked what “价位” (price range) we were looking at. We indicated the range of $100 and were recommended to have our dinner at Xian Qiang Fang Restaurant (鲜墙房)…
What to eat at Xian Qiang Fang Restaurant (鲜墙房) Shanghai
As we entered into Xian Qiang Fang Restaurant (鲜墙房), we were intrigued by the oriental design of the restaurant. High ceiling, spacious environment and even ultra huge tables. The abundance of space and comfortable setting caught our attention at the first instance. As we started to tuck into our meal, we were entertained by Chinese Opera at the centre stage. Not only that, to cater to the overseas tourists, there were subtitles in both Mandarin and English, flashing across the displays as the actors sang the Chinese Opera on stage. Such novelty! Definitely a first for us!
Food we ate at Xian Qiang Fang Restaurant (鲜墙房) Shanghai
Food was also excellent at Xian Qiang Fang Restaurant (鲜墙房). We especially loved the braised pork belly which was firm for the texture yet tender on the bite. The scallop asparagus dish had so much scallop that we actually had trouble finishing the scallops. See how “abundant” the scallops were! On the other hand, the Shanghai fried noodles were quite oily. Well, at least now that we’ve tasted it, we know that we would think twice before ordering it again ;P
