There are so many things to do and attractions in San Diego California! If you’re visiting San Diego anytime soon, take a look at our post for a good list of recommendations!
Things to do in San Diego California
1. Little Italy San Diego California
Little Italy was our first stop in San Diego. In addition, to the “Italian flair” that the precinct exudes (think Italian colours on banners), you’ll find some great Italian food as well. Check out our coverage of Bencotto Italian Kitchen during our visit.
2. SeaWorld San Diego California
SeaWorld San Diego is definitely one of the biggest attractions in San Diego! Just take a look at how the killer whale flipped in the air during one of the shows, and you’ll understand why (2 minutes and 23 seconds mark in the video above). But unlike what most people are saying, you do not have to rush to see the killer whales. Although SeaWorld is not taking in new killer whales, the youngest whale is only 2 years old while the oldest is 50 years old. Seems like we’re gonna see more killer whale shows in the years to come.
3. USS Midway & Unconditional Surrender Statue San Diego California
USS Midway and Unconditional Surrender Statue are attractions of San Diego that shouldn’t be missed. If you have not been aboard an aircraft carrier, USS Midway gives you that opportunity and also many other exhibits including fighter planes on its flight deck.
The Unconditional Surrender Statue depicts the scene of a sailor and a nurse after the end of World War 2. Just a mere 5 minutes walk away from USS Midway, the statue offers great photo opportunities with USS Midway in the background.
4. Old Town San Diego California
Old Town San Diego is a really cool place to hang out. You’ll be able to see some “Old West” structures and shop at some specialty shops here. Fiesta De Reyes within Old Town is also a great place to find some souvenirs to bring home. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to spot some “villagers” dressed in traditional costumes as well!
5. Balboa Park San Diego California
Balboa Park (located near San Diego Zoo) offers a great venue for interaction with nature, picnic spots and a day of chilling out. During our visit, we “photo-bombed” a wedding photo shoot, which shows how popular the venue is. We also saw a really cute bunny hopping about freely in the park!
6. San Diego Zoo California
According to many reviews, the San Diego Zoo is probably one of the best Zoos in the world. However, having been to several zoos ourselves, we still think that the Singapore Zoo is the best Zoo in the world. What do you think?
7. Beaches – La Jolla and Pacific Beach San Diego California
San Diego boasts some of the best beaches on the West Coast. Check out La Jolla beach (pronounced as La-Ho-Ya) and its sea caves as well as Pacific Beach for some of the best sunsets!
8. Seaport Village San Diego California
Unfortunately, we only have night shots of Seaport Village. However, we would say that Seaport Village is a great place to hang out for walks by the boardwalk or just shopping for souvenirs. For instance, there’s a shop that makes customized candle holders that glows with different colours and designs when litted!
