Tom Dining is definitely the most important topic aboard any cruise ship. It is no different aboard the Norwegian Jade of the Norwegian Cruise Line. In this post, we’ll talk about all the complimentary dining venues plus a specialty dining venue (Moderno Churrascaria) where we spent additional fees ($24.99 per person) to visit.

Garden Cafe Norwegian Jade Norwegian Cruise Line
Garden Cafe is a complimentary dining venue located on deck 12. It serves buffet-styled international fare.

To create a “healthier” dining habit during our 7 nights cruise aboard the Norwegian Jade, we decided to have only eggs benedict, fruits and vegetables for breakfast. Since, we had the Ultimate Beverage Package of Norwegian Cruise Line, we also had mimosas (healthy orange juice topped off with prosecco) as well. Do note that eggs benedict is only served at Garden Cafe and no where else. Hence, we’ll usually have them on 3 bacon and 1 salmon, taken to the Great Outdoors. Blue Lagoon Norwegian Jade Norwegian Cruise Line

Blue Lagoon is another complimentary dining venue located at deck 8. It is also the only 24 hours dining venue aboard. What we love about Blue Lagoon is that the seats are always near the windows for great views. Also, they serve decent buffalo wings. And we’re speaking from the experience of having ate the original buffalo wings at Anchor Bar New York. For breakfast, they have a partial buffet menu where you can order ala-carte items and pick up fruits and cereals at the standing buffet.
We usually have the Panini when we’re there. However, on one occasion, we noticed a “relatively long curly hair ” between our sandwich. Wonder how many of those hairs we ate…*puke*
Alizar Main Dining Room Norwegian Jade Norwegian Cruise Line

Alizar is the dress-code friendly version of Grand Pacific. This means that you can have fine dining while wearing your bermudas. However, the food here is definitely of a lower standard than Grand Pacific. Hence, if you have options, you can give Alizar a miss.
Jasmine Garden Asian Restaurant Norwegian Jade Norwegian Cruise Line

As mentioned in our most comprehensive review of Norwegian Jade (Norwegian Cruise Line) part 1, we said that food at Jasmine Garden can be missed. Though the pictures look nice, the tastes don’t really meet the mark. Nonetheless, we could say that the wanton is not too shabby and the dessert with green tea is quite good. Otherwise, head over to Grand Pacific for a great dining experience!

We’ve enjoyed every meal at Grand Pacific. Look at how exquisite the plating is! Miss the beef carpaccio which was every bit as it should be! The entire dining experience included an element of anticipation as we were always surprised by how our order would turn out. Kudos to the chefs at Grand Pacific!

We have never been to a Churrascaria before and this visit gave us a perfect impression of the churrascaria dining experience. All the meats were tender and the selection included pork ribs, lamb chops, chorizo, chicken and our personal favourite, the top sirloin! We’ve travelled around the world and have tasted all kinds of top steaks and even wagyu beef. But the top sirloin served here was indescribable! The meat was so tender while the juices and flavours bursts out of the meat with each and every bite. Incredible! In fact, the sirloin was so well-prepared that we gave a little appreciation to the chef for giving us this unforgettable dining experience.
Before we forget, for those who have not been to a churrascaria before, it is essentially various styles of barbecue meats served to you by the slice (or piece) at your table. You will be given a card in red or green to indicate more meats (green) or you’re full (red). Yes, it is free-flow of good quality meats!
If you do not have the Ultimate Dining Package and are willing to try a specialty dining restaurant, look no further than Moderno Churrascaria. You won’t regret it!
