There are so many things to do and attractions in Jeju! If you’re travelling to Jeju in South Korea, remember to check out this post before you go. Due to the volcanic activity of Jeju Island, there are many beautiful natural formations as well. Cheap seafood is also a huge draw, especially for tourists from Singapore 😛 Let’s check out what are the top attractions and things to do in Jeju!

Things to do in Jeju – Mysterious Road
After alighting from the airport, our first attraction was the Jeju Mysterious Road. Mysterious Road got its name because there’s an illusion that it depicts. In one direction, while travelling downhill, it actually looks like you’re travelling uphill. The reason? Check out our post on day 3 of our South Korea Travel Itinerary to find out more!
Things to do in Jeju – Jeju Teddy Bear Museum
At 2bearbear.com, one of our most sought after attraction in Jeju is definitely the Jeju Teddy Bear Museum. Not only will you be able to find the “bear-carnate” of Steve Jobs, Einstein and Elvis Presley, our favourite bear is definitely the back-to-the-future bear. Who is he? Check out our Jeju Travel Itinerary to find out more! In addition, you’ll also be able to find the most expensive Louis Vuitton Teddy Bear, valued at a whooping $193,477USD! :O
Jeju Attractions – Innisfree Jeju House
Innisfree Jeju House is an unique juxtapose of cafe and cosmetic products. Next to the building itself, you’ll be able to find a scenic spot featuring rows of tea leaves. Inside, the cafe offers beautifully crafted desserts and delicious (yet healthy) drinks. A great place to chill out to rest after a morning of sight-seeing in Jeju.
Jeju Attractions – Jeju Glass Castle
As it was threatening to rain, we decided to visit an attraction that offers some form of shelter. Hence, we decided to drop by Jeju Glass Castle. Thankfully, the rain left as quickly as it came. As most of the displays were outdoors, we were glad that it only drizzled during parts of our visit. Here, we were able to learn about the different glass making techniques as well as unique compositions such as Cheomseongdae (in glass) as well as the Cinderella Glass Horse Carriage shown above!
Jeju Attractions – Jeju Folk Village
Due to time constraints, we were rushing to visiting Seongsan Ilchubong and had to give Jeju Folk Village a miss. Hence, the shot outside of its premise. However, during our research, we found out that there are 2 main folk villages in Jeju – Jeju Folk Village and Seongeup Folk Village. Jeju Folk Village trumps Seongeup due to the size, details and of course the famous scenes shown in the Korean drama Daejangguem (大长今)!
Jeju Natural Attractions – Cheonjeyeon Waterfall
There are 3 tiers of waterfalls at Cheonjeyeon Waterfall and the most majestic (as well as the one that flows year round) is the 3rd tier. Besides the waterfall itself, the Seonim-gyo iron arch bridge is also an attraction in itself. Not only are the decorative figures at the side of the bridge intricately crafted, the views from the bridge itself is breathtaking (and jarring) as well!
Jeju Natural Attractions – Jusangjeolli Cliff
Due to the volcanic activities in Jeju island, natural formation such as Jeosangjeolli Cliff can be formed. Much like Devil’s postpile, Jeosangjeolli cliff’s iconic column/hexagonal formation is formed by the cooling of the volcanic lava, slowly, overtime. Do take time to take in the sight, you might even chance upon groups of passengers on a fast jet getting up close to Jeosangjeolli Cliff.
Jeju Natural Attractions – Cheonjiyeon Waterfalls
Not to be confused with Cheonjeyeon Falls (Heavenly Falls), Cheonjiyeon Falls (Heaven and Earth Falls) is a slightly higher waterfall, surrounded by lush greenery. The waterfall is located within a park. The well paved path is a plus for families to visit.
Jeju Natural Attractions – Oedolgae Rock Jeju Island
Oedolgae Rock and its vicinity are lined with unique rock formations. For instance, there is an area that has is shaped like a huge bath tub, allowing snorkeling activities to take place in a safe environment. Seaside cliff formations are also a huge draw. Moreover, the paths link the coastal walk, allowing visitors to slowly take in the sights. Of course, Oedolgae Rock (aka Janggunseok Rock) itself, is a 20 metres rock standing out by itself – a sight to behold.

Jeju Natural Attractions – Jeongbang Falls
At 23 metres high and 10 metres high, Jeongbang Falls is definitely our favourite waterfall of them all. However, the only problem is that the walk there can be a little risky. Not only are the steps down to the seaside steep and slippery, the last part close to the waterfall is lined with throngs of broken rocks. Definitely not suitable for the kids. By the seaside, you may also chance upon some Ajummas selling their freshest catch of the day, cooked on the spot!
Jeju Natural Attractions – Suwolbong Peak
Suwolbong Peak is known for its striations strewn alongside the cliffs by the seaside. The paths are well laid here as well. However, when we were there, the wind was quite strong. Also, from time to time, you may be surprised by sea cockroaches. Kate’s favourite! Yikes!

Jeju Natural Attractions – Mt Hallasan
The ascent up Mt Hallasan is a rather challenging climb that can take 3 to 4 hours EACH WAY. Hence, (you’ve guessed it!) we didn’t take the hike. Nonetheless, the views from the vicinity was refreshingly beautiful and lined with lush greenery. Do let us know if you have taken the climb up Hallasan in our comments section below!
Jeju Natural Attractions – Sanbangsan
Sanbangsan is a lava dome formed out of the volcanic activities of Jeju Island. The climb up is rather steep though the stairs are well constructed. At the top, there’s a temple carved out of the dome. However, as the views are limited atop and the climb can be rather challenging. We recommend skipping the climb and take some pictures at the bottom of Sanbangsan instead.
Jeju Natural Attractions – Geumneung and Hyeopjae Beach
For a beach getaway in Jeju, head to Geumneung and Hyeopjae Beach where the waters are clear and blue. Eateries by the beach are where revelers enjoy the local cuisine, take in the views and knock back a couple of drinks.
Jeju Natural Attractions – Seopjikoji and Seongsan Ilchulbong
Seopjikoji is actually the best spot to view Seongsan Ilchulbong during sunrise. Unfortunately, it was foggy and we were not able to see Seongsan Ilchulbong. Similarly, at the foot of Seongsan, we were only able to make out the outline of the slopes. Hence, we decided to chill out at Paris Baguette. With great pastries and awesome views, Paris Baguette at Seongsan Ilchulbong is a great place to visit – especially during a foggy day.
What food to eat in Jeju – Seopjikoji and Seongsan Ilchulbong
Jeju Black Pork
One of the most sought-after food in Jeju is its black pork and what better way to enjoy it than to have it over red hot charcoals? This time, we enjoyed a huge slab at Jeju Shinhwa World’s 3 Butcher’s. Tasted every good as they said it would be.
Seafood Soup
Seafood is cheap, fresh and delicious in Jeju! For Singaporeans, the abalone is unbelievably cheap. For 15,000krw, we had a seafood soup which had prawns, mussels, a crab and not 1 but 2 abalone!
