Tom We woke up early on day 11 of our 13 day travels in Hawaii to catch the sunrise before heading out to Kauai Coffee and check into our most posh hotel yet – Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa!

Kauai Coffee before Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa
One stop we had to make before relaxing at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa for the next 2 days – Kauai Coffee. At each of the Hawaiian, we’ve tried the coffee and the one at Kauai is one of our favourite…
At Kauai Coffee, you can do the tour yourself by following the path and reading these sign boards or you can join the free daily walking tours at 10AM, 12PM, 2PM, 4PM. Before joining the 10am walking tour, we arrived earlier and tried the various coffee available. Hawaiian Hazelnut was definitely one of our favourite along with the Roast Master’s Choice.
After the tour, we stopped over at the row of food trucks at Koloa Town and had the BBQ pork at Chalupa’s Mexican Food and Phad Thai at Craving Thai…
Having read several reviews prior to our visit to Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, we found out that the beach next to the hotel had rough waves and is unsuitable for snorkeling. However, there is a great snorkeling area close to Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, known as Poipu Beach…
Although snorkeling experience is not as good as that of Hanauma Bay, it is still a decent snorkeling site. Plus, you’ll be able to see the Hawaiian Monk Seals lazing on the sands as residents of Poipu Beach!
Arriving at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa
Soon, it was time to check in at one of the poshest hotel we’ve ever stayed in – Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa!
As we entered the lobby, we were greeted by hotel staff who placed Lei (flower garland) over us and showed us to the reception. As our room was not ready yet, we headed over to the pool area to chill. In the meantime, Tom checked on the flower arrangements in the room (discreetly) while Kate continued to laze around at the pool area. As we entered our room, we were greeted by the flower arrangement (which costs $200USD)…
Kate was pleasantly surprised but Tom was a little unhappy because if you look closely, there are some words that were spelt incorrectly. Thankfully, the hotel was gracious enough to do a refund. Kudos to the hotel team for recognizing the mistake and acceding to the request of the guest!
The room itself was spacious and had a garden view which was more serene…
After settling in, we head straight to (you’ve guessed it!), the pool area to laze and also take the opportunity to do a tour of the hotel premise…

Thanks to the complimentary coupons, we were able to have some drinks and sandwiches by the pool…
We also found our favourite spot at the end of the lazy pool…

In the evening, we lazed by the pool again and watched as the moon rose into the dark night. There was a company event held at the hotel but it was still quiet and serene by the pool. After a few (lazy) laps, we headed back to turn in for the evening…
