For the last 3 days of our travels in Hawaii, we decided to take it slow and unwind on the island of Kauai at Kauai Shores hotel…

Chickens are everywhere on Kauai Island!

Once we landed at Kauai, we could immediately feel the relaxed, kampung-like feel of the island. One thing (or bird) that added to this vibe? Chickens on Kauai Island!!! These Feral Chickens are literally EVERYWHERE on Kauai island. Having no natural predators, they’re very much just breeding and taking over the island – slowly but surely…

We headed to our first stop at Kauai Beer Company where we had the Oxtail Stew and Ponzu Pork Sandwich…

After the meal, we headed to Wailua Falls one of the most easily accessible waterfalls on the island of Kauai. Head on Highway 56 and take a left on Maalo Road in Hanamaulu. Follow this road for a couple of miles and you’ll reach the end of the road where there’s a little stall selling drinks as well as parking space to view the falls…

Thereafter, it was time to check in to Kauai Shores for a relaxing evening…

The check in was relatively fast and straight-forward. The cool thing about staying at Kauai Shores is not only its proximity to the beach (beach on site!) but also that you’ll be able to borrow DVDs for free and play it on the PlayStation in-room!
